Where the trees meet the creek
Cabins, tent camping, RV sites, fishing, and outdoor weddings on the Ziegenhorn family timber — a piece of Central Illinois the same family has cared for since 1946.
A place to slow down and breathe it in
Tucked into the heart of Central Illinois, Camp Ziegenhorn is a family property with wooded grounds, a creek, a fishing pond, and wide-open skies. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful cabin weekend, tent camping under the stars, an RV getaway, a backyard-style wedding, or just a great spot to cast a line — the land has been waiting for you.
Ziegenhorn’s Timber has been shaped by nature and by family. It shows in every corner of the property.
Pick your kind of night in the timber
Cabins if you like a roof, tents if you like the stars, an RV pad if you bring your home along. Every overnight stay includes fishing on the creek and pond.
Sleep under the trees, not in them
Our cabins are cozy, clean, and ready for family adventure — knotty pine inside, a covered porch and picnic table outside, so you can take your morning coffee out and listen to the woods wake up. Because that’s kind of the whole point.

Sleep under the stars
Pitch your tent among the trees and wake up to birdsong and fresh air. The wooded grounds give tent campers plenty of shaded, open space to spread out — whether you’re a solo adventurer, a couple, or a whole family crew.
Add a fire pit for the evening — firewood is available on-site. It doesn’t get more back-to-basics than this.
Optional electric hookups are $10/day but limited — generators are welcome.

Pull in, park up, and relax
Bring your rig and settle into the shade. RV spots are spread across the property with plenty of green space and mature trees — the kind of setting that makes you want to stay an extra night.
Whether it’s a holiday weekend with the whole family or a mid-week escape, there’s room for your trailer, your chairs, your flag — and your dog.
Electrical hookups are very limited — generators are welcome.

The creek and pond hold bass and other species year-round. No need to drive to a boat ramp — just grab your rod and walk to the water. It’s the kind of fishing that feels like it belongs to you. Fishing is included with every overnight stay; day visitors fish for $10 a person.

Ziegenhorn’s Timber, season by season
The land tells its own story. Flowering catalpa trees, manicured lawns, ancient oaks, and views that stretch to the horizon. Come in spring for the blooms, summer for the green, fall for the color. It’s worth a visit in every season.
